Augmented Radiation Reality

Augmented Reality (AR) overlays digital objects onto the real world, allowing them to coexist in the same space. Users interact with virtual content just as they would with their physical surroundings.

Our idea is to make data easily accessible within a medical facility in a fast and comprehensive way.

  • Multi-targeting: AR software can be implemented to respond to the needs of all the players in the 'health chain' from specialists to patients.
  • Simplicity: No 'ultra-tech' hardware are needed more than a simple smartphone/tablet.
  • Awareness: AR technologies can help in let the end-user comprehend all the phases of the Treatment with more accurate knowledge.

CyclopX is our AR application that exploits 'Trackings' to recognize physical objects in an environment. User interface is completely customizable according to the facility design. Furthermore, the app can be tailored to fit in the greater software environment already available at the center.

The application is targeted to different types of users. According to users role, different features and functionalities are available. Leveraging a cloud database offers key benefits: enhanced accessibility, robust data security, seamless mobility, and reliable backup and recovery.

Patient General Info

Patient general information appear on the tablet screen when the camera meets the tracker, in an organic way. Different levels of information can be shown according to user role: the tracker works as a shortcut to a certain amount of data stored in the cloud database.

Patient Positioning

This solution is addressed to personnel involved in treatment planning procedures. A phantom appears in real world to set up gantry-couch system for patient treatment. Rotation angles can be changed by the user to explore different positioning configurations according to standards.

AR & Virtual Patient

This solution is designed for training purposes. User can interactively explore the Virtual Patient , an antropomorphic phantom designed by i-See. Interactions with Virtual Patient include:

  • Rotation around vertical axis
  • Zooming functions
  • Different tissues and organs visualization
